Blog Leave, really

I'm really taking a 2-week hiatus this time. Really.

The Cove in Santa Monica June 17

The Cove skatepark opens in Santa Monica Friday. The real Z-Boys are expected to be there.
The park looks quite lovely, a tree planted right in the middle.

Blog leave

I reiterate my two week blog leave to work on a couple of book projects.
John Frusciante rules!
Thanks mate for The Bicycle Thief tunes. Love em.
I highly recommend Drew Danburry's new CD
"the way all the trees sway was way too clever to be a mistake."
Thank heavens for music.
Nobody reads the New York Times.
newspapers will be dead and gone in 10 years.
get a skateboard!
peace. out.

Blog leave

I'm taking a blogging leave of absence to focus on two book projects. So unless something really compelling comes up, or the need to vent, I'm not going to post starting today for the next two weeks.
See you soon!

John Frusciante at Silverlake

John will perform to benefit Flea's Silverlake Conservatory of Music next Wednesday, along with Flea, of course, Tracy Chapman (who's in the studio), jazz musician Charlie Haden and Grant-Lee Phillips (the guy behind Grant Lee Buffalo). For a fundraiser, tickets are fairly reasonable, $200 for one, $350 for two.
The first annual Hullabaloo will raise money to help students music lessons. Thanks to my British mate for that bit of news.
In other John news, he was nominated for a LA Weekly Music award.
