Pelosi and Boehner: Payroll Tax Cut and Unemployment Benefits Deal Struck

Boehner tries to spin it as best he can. It's actually a win for Obama and the democrats. Boehner says this bill is a "relief" bill, not a growth bill, but fails to see that without relief, there is no growth. 
Republicans don't like this deal because actual people get the tax cut, not business. It's standard republican philosophy to give tax cuts to business, not people. Also, contrary to popular GOP propaganda that the stimulus (took effect in 2009) didn't create jobs. Wrongo. See the chart below. We're on the 23rd consecutive month of job growth.
